Stripes on my Bureau

It's easy to add a bit of interest and snazzy up plain, old furniture with stripes & gloss.  We chose white and grey paint and gave the handles accent with black gloss.

From sporting a very unseemly coat of brown paint, this chest of drawers was rescued from its sorry state and given new life at Tomas & Jones HQ.

Painting Stripes
To easily paint stripes with no hassles measure and lightly mark the width of your stripes then use painter's tape to mask the edges.  We gave the whole thing a few coats of white paint first, then using the tape, painted on the grey.

{ Handy Hint }
Always start with the lightest colour and then layer on top of that.

It is often helpful to draw inspiration from the style and architectural period of your apartment or house to tie your decorating together.

Let us know what you think, and send us some pictures of your DIY furniture reno's and we'll feature them.

Don't forget it's the last chance to enter our giveaway today! The winner will be drawn tonight!
Good luck!
